THE FINAL IMMUNITY CHALLENGE - THE THRESHOLD OF PAIN

So welcome to your final immunity challenge...

This is your final and most-important immunity challenge of the entire game. The person who wins this challenge, essentially guarantees themself a spot in the final two and a 1-in-2 shot at winning the entire game. The stakes have never been higher and the odds have never been greater, than they are tonight. This challenge will ultimately decide who goes to the Final Tribal Council and which person will become the last member to join the jury. This has been an amazing journey for all of us. But before I start, might I add that this has been the most successful game I have ever hosted and it's truly been a pleasure hosting this game for all of you. Unfortunately, the ride is almost over - it's time to crown another winner in this series and it's only a matter of time before that happens...

I hope you each spent this last week just reflecting on the fact that you have outlasted 13 others, who all wanted to be where you are tonight. I hope you took this opportunity to look back and take it all in. There's very little left to do in this game - I hope you've perepared for what lies ahead of you.

INTRODUCTION:

This final immunity challenge will take one area that has never really been touched in this game - physical and mental stamina; how badly do you want it. Three factors will play key roles in this final immunity challenge: Physical stamina (the ability to withstand pain and endurance, hand in hand); Mental stamina (the ability to block everything out and concentrate on the task at hand) and finally; Will power (your ability to outlast everyone else).

Without question, this is the most difficult challenge of the game because you will take everything you've encountered in previous challenges, including one new element and combine them into one final test. A test of your threshold of pain.

This challenge will slowly progress from fairly easy to downright painful but if you can reach a certain zone and block everything out, you should be fine. It's getting past that initial point that will be the most difficult part and I'll be honest, it's very hard to get by the initial pain.

So here's how the challenge will work...

You will stand straight up and take two fairly sizeable textbooks or hardcover books. With both your arms straight outwards (in jumping jack position - like a butterfly, not in front of you), not bent, and your palms facing down, you will put one book on the each hand. You will then squat as low as you can go and hold that position. Once you're in position, you may not move your arms down, they must stay straight out with the both books resting on top of each hand. Also, your legs may not move very far up from the squat position, you must stay down.

You will stay in this position as long as you possibly can, with your webcam recording every second. Once a book falls, your arms go down too far or your legs bend up too high, of your original squat position, your done. The person who lasts the longest without moving arms or legs out of position, wins the final immunity, guarantees themself a front row seat at the final Tribal Council and a 1-in-2 shot at winning Survivor Webcam 4.0.

Now I will explain in great detail what you need to do for this final challenge. Follow these directions carefully and do your best!

YOUR INSTRUCTIONS:

Pre-Challenge Instructions:

#1. Find two sizeable, hardcover books. They must be about size and thickness as this book, with approximately 500+ pages:

Now that you have your books, you may begin the challenge:

Make sure your webcam is ready and enabled to record your video - position it so that I can see all of you (head to toe), when you step back. If I cannot see you from head to toe and ANY part of you is cut off (including arms and hands), your video will not count. Once you have everything you need: books and determination (that was corny), begin recording and do the following:

[ Note: You may want to already be standing up when you do this. ]

#1. Show both books to the webcam - flip through to ensure the pages are real and knock on both to ensure they are hardcover.

#2. Now rest each book on top of both hands, with palms FACING DOWN. If you require assistance with resting the books on each hand (as it is a difficult to manouveur), you may ask one person to help you. But, they may only help you with resting the books on your hands; you must do everything else.

Of course your arms won't be that high up. They will be straight outwards, at a 90-degree angle to the rest of your body.

#3. Once you have both arms outwards, in the correct position, you will squat down as low as you can go. Keep your arms outwards the whole time you squat down.

The key is to go as LOW as YOU can without falling over or breaking your back. Nobody can hold the books while you go down and your arms must stay straight out while you go down. If a book drops or your arms bend too far down, you must start over again.

#4. Now you are in your final position - DO NOT MOVE from this point on. You should be positioned as follows, if you did everything correctly:

- Both arms should be straight outward (or perpendicular/at a 90-degree angle to the rest of your body). And they must be in jumping jack or butterfly position, not in front of you.

- One book must be resting on top of your left hand and another on your right hand, with palms facing DOWN.

- And finally, you should be squatting as low as you can go.

#5. Now that you are in correct position, you must stay in this position, without bending your arms or legs very much (I will explain further down, how much you are permitted to move, and it isn't very much). To notify me that you're in position, nod your head once and clock will begin. If you don't nod, I will not begin timing you.

#6. You will be timed from the moment you nod your head to the moment you do either of the following: a) drop a book; b) move or bend out of position or; c) drop out/give up

Once your done you may stop recording and submit the video (compressed in a nice format - WMV, MPEG, MP4, etc.) to myself or any of the people who you normally send videos to.

Label video as: YourNameFinalChallenge.WMV or whatever format it is in.

STAY IN POSITION:

You will be permitted to move but only a very limited distance. Here's an explanation of how I will be watching you.

Legs:

Once you are in position you may not move your legs or bend them in any way. I will allow a 'very' small margin of movement but nothing that is noticeable. I will mark where the top of your head is and make a straight line. If/when your nose goes above that line, you are done.

Arms:

Once you are in position, you may not move your arms or bend them in any way. They MUST stay completely straight out. I will mark where the bottom of your arms are, and make a straight line. If/when the top of your book falls below that line, you are done.

The key here, is to stay in the same original position and move as little as possible.

WORDS OF ADVICE/PRECAUTIONS:

This challenge is designed to test your threshold of pain, as well as physical stamina and endurance (it is also very similar to the final challenge in Survivor:Thailand). It is also designed to be painful!

I strongly advise that you do as few trial runs of this challenge as possible. The more trial runs you do, the more fatigued your arms will become, making it very difficult to endure the challenge. The sooner you do it (with as few trials as possible), the better you are off, but it's solely up to you. After testing this challenge out, the current record is about 5 minutes so there's a rough idea of how long this challenge may last for you.

I strongly adivse all of you to stretch your legs and arms before you do this, as you will have extremely sore and stiff arms/legs, the next day, if you don't do some stretches.

A final good luck...

I wish the three of you only the best of luck in this final immunity challenge - any one of you can win this crucial immunity.

The person who lasts the longest (has the longest time), will win immunity, guarantee themself a spot in the Final Two and more importantly, a 1-in-2 shot at winning this entire game. It's that simple.

Get into your zone and block everything out when you're doing this challenge, as it will become painful and unbearable.

If you have any questions or require further clarification, e-mail me, IM me or leave a note in your forums. I will respond to you ASAP.

For the last time in Survivor Webcam 4.0, immunity is back up for grabs.
