Why Help Centre?

The Help Centre is created to help any visitors to the Survivor Webcam website, with known issues regarding videos (and software to view them), download problems and forum issues. This knowledge base, as small as it may be, should help all visitors to the site, resolve and problems they may experience when visiting survivor-webcam.com. Video Media Types & Issues

Normally, survivor-webcam sticks with the .WMV (Window's Media Video 9) file format. This file-type can only be played in the Window's Media player which is available for Windows 96/98/ME/2000/XP and Mac OS 8.1+/OS X Jaguar platforms. In 4.0, you may encounter new media types such as .MOV, .AVI, .MP4 and .MPEG. On the left side of this page you will find out what media players support what media types. If you are ever unsure what you need to view a file, use this left column as a reference.

FAQ #1: Can't view file? Ans: Make sure you have the latest version of Window's Media Player, Quicktime or RealOne. If you continue to have problems try saving the file as a target by right clicking over the link then saving to disc or computer.

FAQ #2: Slow loading of videos: WHY?! Ans: From time-to-time, the server does get overwhelmed with connections and downloads. technically, only 20 sockets are available for downloading files. Sometimes this number is exceeded, which slows down the network. Please try again later if you are experience significanly erratic/slower download times than normal.

Forum Issues

All visitors to the forum, intending on taking part in the discussions are required to register with the forum site. Please register then respond to the email so that your registration is confirmed. Once your registration is confirmed, you are free to post in the forums. You must confirm the e-mail before the system recognizes you as a new member.

FAQ #1: Having problems staying logged into the forum? Ans: It’s been an on-going problem in the past and a solution has been achieved.
www.survivor-webcam.com has a static url meaning, no matter where you go in the site, it’s always www.survivor-webcam.com. This has a tendency to mess up your cookies so the main solution, if your having problems is: do not visit the forum from the site.
