The Final Word: Rob's Final Statement

Well, I basically had a first hand look at the game. I saw how it was played, how people conducted themselves and who said what about whom. I saw a lot. Now, I give you the opportunity to read what 'I' honestly thought about each player. Remember, these are simply my opinions and views. Out of context of the game, you are all great people. In context of the game, I 'do' have different opinions in some cases.

Vote for me @ Online Survivor Top Sites List

People have experienced Survivor: Webcam

Amanda & Joey "Survived" 70 Days in the Game.

Live on AOL, the seven jury votes were revealed at Tuesday Night's Survivor: Webcam BIG Finale. Amanda (Mandi), walked away from the game as the Sole Webcam Survivor after an overwhelming final vote of 6-1. Amanda overcame the odds earlier on in the game to become the sole person standing, claimming the very first Survivor: Webcam title and the cash as her reward. Joey, the runner-up walks away with 10% of the final prize pot, which he has donated to the Survivor: Webcam 2.0 prize pot, and title of "Runner-Up" for Survivor: Webcam v1.0. The game that started out small and grew into an internet phenomenon couldn't have ended any better with readers and fans in high attendance, including the presence of past players from earlier on in the game.

After voting out Luiz in the final three, it was Amanda or Joey who would win the coveted title. With Amanda being favoured, it wasn't a suprise when she was officially awarded as winner. After waiting a long 4 days for the votes to be read, the spirits were not only high but very joyous.

The Final Tribal Council

On Friday night, at a very heartfelt and sometimes, heated Tribal Council, the Jury of seven were given the opportunity to ask the final two questions and make any final statements about the players. This was the Jury's first opportunity to have their voice heard, after going through nearly a month of observing the actions of the players. In some cases, the players were evaluated based on their behaviour and past actions. In other cases, they were either condemned or applauded for the choices they made while playing the game for 70 days. This final vote would determine who would walk away with the cash and title.

The Final Vote

After having the chance to speak their minds, both sides, the Jury and Final Two prepared for the final vote and here is what transpired over the next half hour...

Rob (addressing the Jury) : "Tonight you are voting for a winner. You are not voting somebody out of the tribe. You are voting for the person who 'you' think is most-deserving of the title of Sole Webcam Survivor and the cash as their reward. Very tough decision to make. It is time to vote. Sam, you're up..."

Sam walks up to the voting confessional...

"Reason: Mandi, you did it, and I really dont know what to say. You've been such a great friend through all of this and I cant thank you enough for that. I'll never forget all the late nights that we had.. especially that one IC where we teamed up, out of eveythingI worked on, that meant a lot to me. Words will never ever be able to express how much a friend I consider you. I love you like a little sister and I wish you nothing but the best in your years to come. I hope that you get the money to go to Australia, I know how much you want to go. I luboo with all my heart and I cant express how extremely happy I am to have been in this game with you. I think it must be fate that we were supposed to talk, since you didnt know until minutes before the game started you'd be accepted. I luboo a million times and.. thanks for putting tears in my eyes at final TC. Thank you for everything you've done in this game.

JOEY: Joey, man.. you know you mean a lot to me! The only thing that caused me to vote this way tonight was that LONG period of time that I just never saw you online or talked to you. It almost felt like you had abandoned me or something, although I know you didn't Thank you for never ever breaking that Pamona promise, thank you for never voting for me, a million times thank you. I wish you the best in the many years you have to come. And.. I hope I get to go to Montreal or San Francisco this summer. Luboo Joey! and I'll end with.. Ne pas avaler. La garantie nlest plus valable si le produit est ouvert."

See Sam's voting clip here.

Angel walks up to the voting confessional...

"Wow.. this is REALLY hard. I think both of them are equally deserving in different senses. I've thought about this A LOT. And I thought about a LOT of different factors and even asked my dad for advice. And this is what it comes down to- which was the bigger accomplishment? I kept in mind that Joey started this game to accomplish something and managed to juggle the game school and work and Mandi came into it basically out of boredom at first and had more free time... I also kept in mind that Mandi got to final 2 by getting immunity over and over which is really commendable don't get me wrong.. but I think it was a bigger feat that joey made it this far without immunity. Joey used more strategy than Mandi did..and I just feel that Joey wants it more. I don't know. I just really feel right about this vote. I love you both and I think you BOTH did a REALLY nice job in this game. But tonight my vote is for Joey... "

Lenea walks up to the voting confessional...

"It's late...it's long...it's my vote. I am still going to make a video and hopefully I'll have it done before you update the site. I just can't figue out why my audio doesn't work. Ner! Anyway!

Before Tribal Council on Thursday I decided that I would clean the slate for both Mandi and Joey to allow my decision for the winner to be fair. Like some of the others I spent time typing out my final statement and question into notepad as opposed to just winging it. My decision would be based on how both Mandi and Joey answered the Jury's questions alone. Sam and Angel went before me and asked to pivitol questions that helped me make my decision. Sam asked "Which 3 castaways wouldnt you give the money to?" and part of Angel's question was "Which 3 castaways least deserve to be in the final two?" I was suprised that Joey had chose me for both question. I got the feeling that he thought that he didn't have my vote anyway, so he didn't even try nor care if his answers bothered me at all. After I had made my statement that was previously prepared, Joey IMed me and thanked me for saying that I didn't think he was a bad person and that I didn't hold any resentment towards him. I didn't know how to ! respond to that. "Gee, I wish I could say the same about you" ? I said something about it (I can't remember) and his justification for how he responded to Sam and Angel's questions was that he "was hurt" because I said that he lied, which in my opinion, he did. Beating around the bush when asked a question is lying as far as I'm concerned. I'd known that he had his alliance and during the time that I knew and didn't let him know it, I never treated him any differently and I would still consider him even though it bothered me more than anything else in the game has bothered me. But when I spoke up and told him how I felt, he just wrote me off. I felt like an ass even bothering to write nice things about Joey in my final statement (even though they're true). He was hurt by his own course of action so he decides to hurt me in return. Sheesh. Althouh I can't condone what Joey said I can't condem it either. He was honest and that's what is important. However, I didn't get the same feeling from Joey as I ! did from Mandi (maybe because he was cold to me?). Mandi is sincerly an honest and beautiful person and everyone in this game knows that she is a blast to be around. It's hard not to laugh when she's present. She always make you feel comfortable and special when you talk to her. The best part of Friday night's council was when Mandi said something sweet to just about everyone on the jury. That, and when she mentioned that she did, in fact, need the money to go to Austrailia. That showed how honest she is and that she wouldn't lie to win. She never let anyone feel that they weren't liked (except for maybe herself). She is completly humble and loveable. That's why I'm voting for her to win."

Shawn walks up to the voting confessional...

"i'll make the video on monday or so, and send it to you, after i am positive that your mailbox is empty. this was a very close vote, and mandi got the answer to the riddle (time), but that's not why she gets the vote. she wins by virtue of the amazing winning streak, winning five consecutive ICs."

Mark walks up to the voting confessional...

"This has to be the hardest vote ever. I have been thinking this vote over for a days. After every minute of mind numbing comparisons, i have came up with my vote.

Joey, you played so well in this game and you put a lot of effort in to get this far. You are a great guy and you deserve to be proud of how well you played this game.

Mandi, you put hours and hours into every challenge and you deserve alot of respect for that. We have spoke many times and you are always interested in what i have to say. Plus you have noticed the love I have for my wife, and for noticing that and telling me how happy you are for me, I am voting you. Mandi well done, you have my vote. I hope you win. Sorry Joey, I hope we stay in touch."

Luiz walks up to the voting confessional...

"This was a difficult decision because both Mandi and Joey deserve to win. But I can only vote for one person.

Just after TC 12 Mandi emailed me asking me if i'd like to go to the final 2 with her (if either of us won immunity in the last ic). I had made no promises with anyone else and I really like Mandi so I agreed.
We obviously couldn't carry out the promise because neither of us won immunity in the last IC and although Mandi got to the final 2, I felt like I had let her down. So, it seems only fair for my vote to be for Mandi. Even though I found out something tonight, which could of changed my vote but anyway, it doesn't matter because I made a promise and although Mandi and I couldn't carry out that promise in the end, I intend to at least vote for her tonight :)...My vote is for Mandi.

I love both Joey and Mandi to bits so this was a really really tough decision and I feel bad for Joey because I really like him. If I could vote for both of them, I would! But I think i've made the right choice.

Good luck to both of you! Sorry Jo, hope u understand."

David walks up to the voting confessional...

"Well..My vote is for Mandi. I was quite disappointed to see that both of the final 2 were sort of against me in the tribal council. If I could have made a choice, I would have voted for rob. But, I did have to pick on of you unfortunately. And that person is Mandi. I want Mandi to win only because I talked to her more...and I guess "according to the FTC" that how much you talked to someone is a major deciding factor in this game."

Rob: "I'll go tally the votes..."

The Castaways wait in anticipation...

Rob: "I know you've waited a very long time for this moment, but you're going to wait just a little bit longer. These votes will be sealed and revealed Tuesday night at the live BIG Finale, when I return from my vacation. You are not to discuss your vote with anyone, I'll see you all on Tuesday..."

Rob: "First off, I'm going to start by saying congratulations Mandi and Joey...Now that the votes have been cast how do the both of you feel?

Mandi: "surprisingly fine. im not really nervous. me and joeys goal was to make final 2 together. the rest isnt important."

Joey: "I am feeling nervous, unlike Mandi .. how do you do it girl! I am okay though .. I am simply glad we both made it .. that's what counts."

Rob: "Now that all has been said and done, was there anything any of the jury members said on friday night that suprised you?"

Mandi: "nah not really! i feel like i knew most of them either semi well or really well, so i wasnt too surprised."

Joey: "I was glad to hear Lenea say that she cared about me . I thought she hated me!

Rob: "What made you think this, Joey?"

Joey: "Our lack of conversation and simply the shortness of our sentenses .. not what it used to be! back in Pamona days."

Rob: "So how have the both of you handled the last 4 days? Nervous?"

Joey: "yeah .. quite"

Rob: "It's obvious you would be, I mean c'mon, look how many people have decided to join us tonight. :-)"

Mandi: "actually no! i was so nervous from the time we were in the final 5 or 6 until then, but once i made final 2 i felt like i did what i had set out to do and ive actually been excited if anything! i dont think of it really as who will lose or win tonite but more like who will make 1st or 2nd. i think we both have already won in other ways!"

Rob: "Alright. So here's what it has come down to...The title of Sole Webcam Survivor...In addition to winning the title...You will receive 184.00 in cash as your reward for surviving and outlasting everyone else...Tonight, the Jury did not vote somebody off...They voted for a winner...That winner, will be one of you...I'll tally the votes for the last time...

First vote: MANDI. Second vote: MANDI. Third vote: JOEY. Fourth vote: MANDI. The winner of the first SURVIVOR: WEBCAM competition is...MANDI. Congratulations Mandi!"

Read what happened at the Survivor: Webcam Reunion Chat and the remainder of the nights activities in the full transcripts which have been made available above.

Hey!

Well, well, well! I have been voted out last, which is pretty cool! But for sure, I am a little dissapointed in loosing this game since I truly believe that I played and excellent game and yes, maybe better then everyone else, strategicly! Mandi, you rock! You are a really cool girl and an awesome competitor ! You did great on the immunity challenges and you had a good strategy also, thanks to me! I am glad you won this game because it was our goal to make it both to the final 2 and we did it! My goals at first were pretty simple. I wanted to get myself to the jury and then, I wanted to be in the final 4, and then to the final 2. I wouldn't let anyone get in my way! But anyways, I am very happy to have stayed true to myself during the entire game and I have met some extraordinaire people and I am sure we will keep all in touch! I had simply a blast and I will never forget this experience. Sam, Manda, Lenea, Matt, Angel, Shawn, Mark and Luiz, I will miss you greatly, not seeing you atleast every five days! Mellie and David, I regret that we never really had a good chance to really get to know eachother very well ! To all of you, have a great life! Good things happend to great people! And you are all great people! So, I don't have to worrie there! Rob, thank you so much for this game and for picking me ! It's been simply a blast and I wish you luck with live and with the other survivors! And last but not least, thank you Angel for voting for me at the last TC :) lol!

Peace! Joey, signing out!
